ABOUT CPAS-1.0

CPAS-1.0 FOOD-GRADE ANTISCALANT

Triple-Action Scale Control for Multiple-Effect Evaporators

"Every micron of scale is a calorie lost. CPAS-1.0 keeps your evaporator tubes clean, campaign-long."

WHY EVAPORATOR SCALE IS YOUR MILL'S BIGGEST PROFIT THREAT

As clarified juice concentrates from 15° Brix to 65° Brix syrup across five effects, mineral salts calcium oxalate (CaOx), (CaCO3), (CaSO4), and silica exceed their solubility limits and precipitate on calandria tube walls. A 1 mm CaOx layer reduces heat transfer by 15–22%, directly increasing bagasse consumption. For a 2,500 TCD mill operating for 150 days, uncontrolled evaporator scaling can cause ₹2.5–4.5 crore in compounded fuel, acid, labour, and production losses.

TRIPLE-ACTION POLYMER MECHANISM

01

Threshold Inhibition

Polyacrylate chains absorb onto pre-nucleation mineral clusters at low concentrations (2–20 ppm), disrupting crystal formation before it begins. Prevents scale formation especially in early effects.

02

Crystal Lattice Modification

Polymer chains incorporate into CaOx and CaCO3 crystal lattices, producing distorted soft polymorphs (vaterite, not calcite). Deposits remain loose and non-adherent, allowing removal during blowdown without acid cleaning.

03

Electrostatic Dispersion

Branched functional groups envelop suspended particulates, creating a repulsive electrostatic barrier (zeta potential −35 to −55 mV). This prevents agglomeration on heat-transfer surfaces throughout all five effects simultaneously.
